Regina SK - August 25-26, 2011

The 16^th Annual RISE Conference was held on August 25-26 at the University of Regina, in the recently completed Research Innovation Centre. The Conference began on Thursday evening with a reception in the Atrium, and then continued on Friday with presentations by nine of the ten 2011 RISE Scholars on the research they carried out during the summer. The day wrapped up with an incredible 6-course dinner at "The Willow on Wascana", a wonderful restaurant located on the shore of Regina's Lake Wascana. The mosquitoes notwithstanding, It was truly an evening to remember, as was the conference itself.

The 2011 RISE Group owes special thanks to the Dean of Science and the Vice-President (Research) of the University of Regina, the Vice-Dean of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan, NSERC, Delta Photonics, Agilent Technologies, and John Wiley & Sons for financial support, and to Professors Scott Murphy (University of Regina) and Matthew Paige (University of Saskatchewan) for organizing the 2011 RISE Conference.
